When you’re running your own practice, you need to have multiple channels on new work opportunities if you want your business to survive and thrive. It is not good practice to either rely on just one channel or just one big client, as things might change and quickly find yourself in a very difficult position. This is going to be even more stressful if you also employ staff in your practice.
The various channels of potential new work are:
- Existing clients
- Client referrals / word of mouth
- Design competitions
- Direct appointment
- Publications / seminars.
