How do you produce competitive prices?

This is a matter of how much you want to get involved in a project and the sort of financial sacrifice you’re willing to make. If this is for a new client that could potentially lead you to more repeated work, you could even work on a profitless fee proposal only to start building on the new relationship.

If there is no initiative to be competitive, you wouldn’t need to drop your rates, unless again you’re struggling for new work and less profit is better than no work at all.
